Sainte Chapelle - upper chapel

Ste Chapelle Haute Ste Chapelle Haute Aussi Ste Chapelle Haute Encore

The windows, 15 meters in height, constitute the oldest collection of stained glass in Paris. A masterpiece of 13th century glass making, the windows are in effect a Bible in illustration. The 1,134 scences begin with the book of Genesis and continue into Christian times up to the discovery of the true cross by St. Helen in the early 4th century. The windows are read from left to right and from bottom to top.
