The eastern end of the cathedral of Le Puy dates from the end of the
11th century, whereas the construction of the nave
occupied the entire 12th century. Of a monumental, triple-nave design,
its central nave is vaulted in domes while its lateral naves are roofed
in groined vaults. The facade was
entirely reworked in the 19th century in order to restore its Romanesque
aspect.
